  • Diversity

    Diversity complements the other organizational values of teamwork, leadership, empowerment and service quality and encompasses the way we work, the work environment, and respect for people and ideas.

    Diversity includes everyone and everything. While its major focus may often revolve around race and gender, it is not something that is defined, or limited to these two factors. Diversity also extends to age, personal and work history, education, function, personality, geographic origin, tenure with the organization, merit and non-merit status, and management or non-management position. It also encompasses varying management styles and ways of thinking, leadership abilities, skill levels, experiences, viewpoints, expression of thoughts and differing ways of delivering services provided there is consistency in the values we share.   • Equity

    Equity is the collective whole working together and responding to bias and discrimination on any basis; and to eliminate barriers for fair and just treatment of all Kentuckians.

  • Inclusion

    Inclusion is fostering an atmosphere of acceptance and support, where we embrace, value, and appreciate the strengths afforded by the differences, styles, ideas, and contributions of each and every person.

These workforce development programs are sponsored by the Cabinet for Education & Labor and funded by the Statewide Reserve funds, promoting diversity, directly or indirectly:

  • Code Lousiville

    Code Louisville graduates have gone on to take positions in the tech industry as junior developers. Most of the students have years of experience in other areas and their transferable skills will allow them to contribute to your team quickly as Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Engineers, Technical Sales Reps, Project Managers, or other hybrid roles!​​

  • Code Kentucky

    Expansion of Code Louisville to Northern Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky (EKCEP region) to provide more IT opportunities over the course of two 12-week sessions, where learning focuses on the coding languages that are in highest demand at companies, including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, C#, Python, and more.

  • KentuckyianaBuilds

    Partnership between Louisville Urban League, KentuckianaWorks, and the Cabinet for Education & Workforce Development, this program since 2016, has placed more than 260 program graduates into good construction jobs making an average of more than $15 per hour.​

  • Line Tech training at JCTC

    Through the partnership with KentuckianaWorks and EWDC, students are able to receive full tuition assistance to train in the in-demand industry utility industry in the position of a line technician. The goal is to recruit diverse student population to help represent the demographic of Louisville in the energy utility industry that serves all the communities in area.​​​
